Request assistive technology* from The School of Special Educational Needs: Disability
*The School of Special Educational Needs: Disability (SSEND) defines assistive technology according to the World Health Organisation definition, which incorporates specialised student equipment.
The Request for Assistance Assistive Technology (RFAAT) provides support to schools with students enrolled with an identified disability. Assistive Technology (AT) provided by SSEND is categorised under two areas:
1. Student equipment such as hoists, slings, seating and modified desks
2. ICT and peripherals such as laptop computers and specialised keyboards and input devices
SSEND will provide consultation support and time limited AT trials of hardware (ICT and peripherals) to assess the suitability of devices to assist schools with appropriate purchase decision making.
To request an Assistive Technology consultation please submit a Request for Assistance Individual Student. If you currently have an active Request for Assistance for the student, please discuss with your allocated Consulting Teacher.
